Portfolio Development
Program 2010 Underway
Our students for the 2010 Porfolio Development program have been selected and have begun their studies at SJAC! This year's scholars are: Wendy Bastarache, Genevieve Brideau, Brittany Gionet, Bridget Higgins, Miri Kim, Magen Lamb, Na Jin Lim, Hilari MacLeod, Erin Martin, Emily Millard and Carlynn Sullivan.


Generously funded by the James Venner Russell foundation, this enrichment program for students planning to study post-secondary fine art or craft provides them with formal art instruction including master classes, workshops, studio time, critiques, curatorial experience and effective writing presentation in preparing a portfolio for post-secondary application.

Meet Lynn Carr: Portfolio
Development Art Coordinator
Portfolio Development Art Coordinator, Lynn Carr, B.A., BEd., MEd., has been an art teacher in School District 8 since 1976 and for the past six years she has been vice-principal at Barnhill Memorial School.

During her years as an educator, Lynn (seen below, left, with Masterclass instructor Amy Baker) has served as secretary for the NBTA Art Education Council, and served on the Provincial Curriculum Advisory Committee for Art Education for several years. She received her MEd. in art education in 1997 and in 2002 completed the Leadership Development Program in District 8.

While being an administrator as well as teaching art, Lynn has continued to pursue artistic endeavours by taking courses with artists such as Alexandra Flood and Suzanne Hill.
