About the Artist:
I was born in rural Vermont and have resided in Fredericton since 1998. I have lived in and traveled through most of Canada including the far North and find inspiration in the beauty and diversity of our culture and landscape.
I started drawing and sculpting after moving to Nova Scotia as a teenager. I have studied under Glenn Priestley who has encouraged me to pursue my own voice and has taught me the skills necessary to express it on canvas.
When I paint, energy flows through me – my brush independently expresses itself which gives me a sense of belonging to the painting rather than having ownership of it. When I paint a seascape, I feel a cool breeze on my face – with a landscape I smell wet leaves and hear birds calling. I feel very fortunate to experience this.
My work can be found at Ingrid Mueller Art + Concepts, Fredericton, NB as well as in collections across Canada and the United States.
