Lori Quick • True Patriot Love
Statement
It’s January 10, 2011, 11:45 a.m. in Geelong, Australia. I’m finding a parking spot in the shade, under a tree, across from the Gallery before I go in for lunch cover. “There,” I think to myself. “That should keep the car cool.” I hop out of the car, lock the door, look down, and there it is… a maple leaf greets me with open arms. The first thing I reach for is “Carl”, my point and shoot that goes everywhere with me for moments just like this. Is it a coincidence that I happen to be wearing a red and white dress, own red shoes, and a red car? I don’t think so….
