James Venner Russell Portfolio Development Scholars 2011

Those Darn Kids…Fighting Stereotypes Since 1993

The James Venner Russell Portfolio Development scholars for 2011 – Genevieve Brideau, Laura Campbell, Jenny Cunningham, Samantha Cunningham, Alicia Donovan, Emily Ann Dryden, Hailey Ferguson, Neil Gray, Joshua Hayes, Stephanie Paradis, Leah (Jihoo) Park and Chloe Squance – proudly present this exhibition of the work they produced in this unique educational program. This talented group has just completed a six-month intensive session of studio studies with program coordinator and art educator Sara Griffin.

Open to students from grades 11 and 12, Saint John Arts Centre’s 20-week Portfolio Development visual art enrichment program offers a unique learning experience designed for students who are dedicated to the pursuit and study of visual art.

These accomplished young artists benefit from professional art instruction in a well-equipped teaching studio, individual work spaces and the opportunity for to exhibit their work in this special exhibition. This invaluable experience aids students aiming for post-secondary fine arts to prepare a polished application portfolio.

This program would not be possible without the generous ongoing sponsorship of the James Venner Russell Foundation.
